Now who doesn’t like the taste of mangoes? This Mango and Ginger Detox Water recipe is full of goodness and packs an immune system pick me up whilst the ginger aids to soothe tummy pain and nausea. Worth a try during the early stages of pregnancy.
- Mango is an excellent source of Vitamin-A, Vitamin C and flavonoids like alpha-carotene and beta-carotene which helps to protect from lung and oral cavity cancers. They also contain traces of copper which is essential for red blood cell production.
- Ginger helps to relieve nausea, appetite loss, motion sickness and pain. It also improves your digestion.
What you will need
- 1 medium sized mango
- 1/2 inch of ginger root
- 1 Litre or 34 oz Jug
Rinse all fruit and vegetables. Choose Organic if possible.
Half fill your jug with fresh Filtered Water.
Halve the mango and scoop out the mango pulp, add to the water.
Finely slice the ginger root, then slightly crush it to release the flavour. Add to the water.
Top up the Jug with Filtered Water and refrigerate overnight.
Tip: Place your ginger in an airtight bag and store in the refrigerator to stop it from dehydrating.
Filter or strain the Mango and Ginger Detox Water into a chilled glass mug or mason jar and add ice.
Garnish with freshly sliced lime
Bonus: Replenish the water as it’s being used and this recipe should last for a day.
